WELCOME TO ONTARAH
"We are located on the ridges of the Mississippi River Valley – in an Urban-Wilderness – on the boundary of the Shawnee National Forest between two small towns (Chester and Murphysboro). Just close and far enough so you never feel, but can be, alone. In some locations you can hear and barely glimpse the sight, and feel the rumble, of trains; the wisp of cars blend with bird calls and wind brushed trees. Ontarah – Where those of the Light are always welcome.

Currently, Ontarah is a primitive camping site. Future plans can be viewed on our site map, and includes glamping sites, swimming pool and hot tub, restrooms and showers, restaurant, and a music venue.
